“Don’t worry! Japanese Pearls are safe”
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to people in the world for their heartfelt sympathy upon victims of the earthquake and Tsunami disasters hit eastern Japan on
11th March.
Furthermore, we feel sorry for the troubles of the earthquake-stricken nuclear power stations which make the world worry about radiation leaks.
Japanese Akoya pearl farms or the center of cultured pearl production are located 500 km (312 miles) to 1,000 km (625 miles) to the west from the concerned area Please see the map below – Ehime, Nagasaki and Ise are three major pearl farming area.
The harvesting of this year‘s Japanese Akoya pearls has been completed prior to the earthquake and the pearls currently in the market are safe from radioactive pollution.
So, we hereby declare that our products are absolutely safe from the radioactive pollution.
Please be relieved in handling the cultured pearl products exported from Japan.
Japan Pearl Exporters’ Association
Approximately 100 years ago, Japan succeeded in cultivating Akoya pearls. Since that time, Akoya cultured pearls have been coveted, worn and loved by people of all ages not only in Japan but in countries throughout the world. Why is this? It is because Akoya cultured pearls have their own unique splendor. It is also the reason why we would like to promote anew these gems of the sea to pearl-loving people everywhere.
